The importance of a good photographer agent relationship and how to sucessfully work together.
David Ryle is a mid-career photographer/director who shoots across the editorial, contract publishing, advertigins market, as well as developing his personal practice. His work has a beautiful sensibility, a gentle use of light, colour and atmosphere, which resonates with a contemporary audience. Agent Tom Wade has recently joined Peter Bailey. Tom will discuss his role as an agent and how he works with photographers like David. Tom trained as a photographer and began his career in cost control, working directly with brands – his understanding of the market/brands is key to his role as an agent.
Peter Bailey agency was established in 1982. Peter Bailey has represented many leading photographers over the years – during which time the industry has evolved enormously.

14:00: Conrad Ohnuki – Starting Out
Assistant and digi operator Conrad Ohnuki will discuss how assisting is an important next stop in your photographic career, one that can be very hard to get established. Conrad has been an assistant and digital operator for 4 years, and will be sharing tips on how to get your foor in the door, and make it as a freelancer.
15:00: Nick Dunmur – The Price is Right?
Pricing your work and valuing yourself, understanding how to set a rate as a starting point.
16:00: Emma Taylor, Kim Pappas – Process, Charlie Clift – Photographer – The Importance of a Portfolio
This informative panel discssuion will look at: presentation do’s and don’ts; at what stage in your career are you expected have one?; digital versus print portfolios.
