AOP Student Awards 2020 Presentation

The AOP Student Awards are a celebration of the best in photography amongst students, helping to provide that all-important step up to the professional arena. By supporting new emerging talent, the Awards are an opportunity to get a first look at the potential stars of tomorrow.

Join our host, Geraint Cunnick, Course Leader at Ravensbourne University, London and a host of special guests including: AOP President and world-renowned photographer Tim Flach; Judges Julia Fullerton-Batten, People; Laura Noble, Places; and; Lee Smith, Things.

The celebrations kick off at 15:00 Thursday 9 July.

AOP Starting Out 2020 Schedule:

Monday 6th July, 11:00 – 12:00, Amit & Naroop

Amit & Naroop discuss their practice, talking about how they broke into the inddustry, what makes them unique, and The Sikh Project





Tuesday 7th July 11:00 – 12:00, Kim Pappas – Process

Kim Pappas, Director of the Photographic Agency Process will introduce the role of an agency. Looking at what an agent does, what to expect from an agent & how to go about getting one! Kim will also look at ways that you can connect with the industry, including promotional ideas as well as advice on how to communicate and present yourself.


Wednesday 8th July 11:00 – 12:00, Lu Howlett – Iris Worlwide

Lu Howlett, head of Art & Photographic at Iris Worlwide, discusses the role of Ad Agencies, and will dive into the agency creative development process leading to commissioning work.

This talk will cover the following topics:

  • Integrated Ad Agency Model
  • Who’s Who and Who does What
  • The Production Process: Client Briefing to Creation Process
