Originally founded in 1981 the AOP’s Student Awards celebrates the best emerging talent from students of photography across the UK.
On July 4th, we celebrated the enormous talent among our Student members at the private view of the 2019 AOP Student Awards exhibition at Wex Photo Video, London. The exhibition which is sponsored by Fixation comprises all 55 finalist images, from the three categories People, Places and Things judged by Zelda Cheatle, Alicia Hart and Simon Norfolk respectively.
The 2019 Award winners were revealed in front of a 200 strong crowd, a mixture of finalists, press, agents and members. AOP’s Chair, Anne Mannion announced the winners with Course leader at Ravensbourne College and member of the AOP’s Education Working Group Geraint Cunnick presented the winners trophies to the Course of the Year, Lecturer of the Year, each of the three Best in Category winners, and the overall Best in Show.
Many congratulations to Dominika Kreft for People, Paulina Soltysiak for Places and Elena Helfrecht for Things. Best in Show was awarded to Gianluca Urdiroz Agati.
