About Gost Books
Founded in 2012, GOST Books is an independent visual arts and photography publisher based in London.
We pride ourselves on an uncategorisable output of diverse subject matter and design: from a chronicle of seven men claiming to be the Messiah; a study of Turkish soap operas; art works inspired by the largest breeding grounds for flamingos in the Southern Hemisphere; archive photographs from the Mexico City police department; to portraits of winners of state-run competitions in Belarus.
GOST aims to not only provide a platform for the work of emerging artists but contribute to print legacies of masters in the medium.
Volume is a curated publishing platform enabling the creation of high-quality illustrated books on visual culture. Our aim is to redefine the role of the publisher, and the relationship between creator and reader, to produce printed books of uncompromising standards for dedicated audiences.
Volume was founded in 2017 by Lucas Dietrich and Darren Wall to offer an alternative publishing model for creating, financing, producing, and selling high-quality illustrated and printed books. Powered by international art publisher Thames & Hudson, Volume looks to the future of publishing but is founded on seven decades of editorial insight, production expertise and unparalleled global distribution.
Dietrich is international editorial director and head of publishing innovation at Thames & Hudson. Wall is an art director and founder of independent publisher Read-Only Memory, which produces visual books on videogame history.
